King Faisal Mosque in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur

The King Faisal Mosque is located inside Mindanao State University in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.


The mosque was named after the former King of Saudi Arabia, King Faisal, who supported and financed its construction, as well as the establishment of the Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies Center inside the campus.

This is one of the must-see destinations when visiting the Islamic City of Marawi.

HOW TO GET TO MARAWI CITY, LANAO DEL SUR

  • If you're coming from outside the Philippines, your entry point should be Manila.
  • From Manila, take a 1.5 hour flight to Cagayan de Oro City. Philippine Airlines/PAL Express, AirAsia Zest, and Cebu Pacific have several flights daily from Manila to Cagayan de Oro City.
  • Upon arrival at Laguindinga Airport (CDO), take a taxi or shuttle van to Iligan City.
  • The mosque is located inside Mindanao State University in Marawi City. At Southbound Terminal in Iligan City, take a jeepney bound for MSU-Marawi. Travel time is about an hour and fare is 50 pesos. King Faisal Mosque is within walking distance when you're already inside the campus. There are also tricycle that can take you around MSU for 8 pesos per ride.
