Kidapawan City North Cotabato

Kidapawan is one of North Cotabato's major tourist destinations. The city lies at the foot of the majestic Mt. Apo, the country's tallest mountain. Kidapawan comes from the words "tida" which means spring and "pawan" meaning highland, thus the city is called as "A Spring in the Highland".

One of the most visited spots in Kidpawan City by tourists and mountaineers is Lake Agco located inside Mt. Apo Natural Park at the foot of Mt. Apo. The lake is enveloped with thick sulfuric steam and it's indeed boiling. The boiling mud at the lake is an evidence that Mt. Apo is indeed a volcano. They say, Lake Agco is hot enough to boil and cook eggs with the heat coming from the volcano's vent.
