Marinduque is an island province located in the MIMAROPA region, also known as Region IV-B. It is divided into six municipalities, namely Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Santa Cruz, Torrijos and the capital town of Boac.
Every lenten season, tourists flock to the province to witness the yearly Moriones Festival. It is a week long celebration that starts from Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday with different activities. Moriones Festival is considered as one of the most colorful events in the Philippines
HOW TO GET TO MARINDUQUE
By Land and Sea
There are buses from Manila bound for Dalahican Port in Lucena City (Quezon), travel time is around 4 hours and fare is about 220 pesos per person. Bus companies such as Jam Liner, Lucena Lines and RRCG has daily trips from Manila to Lucena City. Alternatively, you can take a bus bound for Lucena City Grand terminal (220 pesos). From the terminal, take a jeepney or tricycle to Dalahican port. Fare is around 10 pesos each.
At Dalahican Port, there are RORO vessels and ferry boats with regular trips to the island province. Marinduque has 3 main ports: Buyabod Port in Sta. Cruz, Cawit Port in Boac and Balanacan Port in Mogpog, be sure to take the correct ferry depending on where you plan to go. Fare is about 260 pesos and travel time is around 3-4 hours depending on sea condition and the type of vessel you took.
REMINDER: Dalahican Port is open 24 hours. Expect it to be crowded with passengers during weekends and holy week due to the number of tourists and locals wanting to spend the long vacation in the island. Be early to reserve your tickets.
You could also take JAC Liner's Marinduque trips via their Seat Reservation System. With their system, you can reserve bus tickets in advance which covers total fare (bus fare, RORO ferry fare and terminal fee) from Manila to Marinduque and vice versa. You can also choose your preferred seats and be assured of a comfortable and worry free travel to Marinduque during holy week.

By Air
There used to be commercial flights from Manila to Marinduque. As of posting time, there are no more commercial airlines servicing the Manila - Boac (Marinduque) route.
