Zamboanga City is a highly urbanized city located in Southwestern Mindanao, Philippines. It is considered as the commercial and industrial center of the Zamboanga Peninsula. Cebu Pacific, PAL Express and Philippine Airlines have several flights daily to Zamboanga City. It will take about 1.5 hours from Manila and about an hour from Cebu or 30 minutes from Davao.
How to get in and out of Zamboanga City Airport
Via Taxis
The easiest way to get to the "pueblo" or donwtown Zamboanga City is to take a taxi. There are several taxis in the city. Drivers would usually charge fixed or contracted rates. It is highly recommended that you negotiate first with the driver before hopping into the cab. This is recommended for a group of 4 passengers and if you have some cargos with you. Getting to the airport should be metered if you get the taxi from the city center.
Via Jeepney
From the airport to the City center, you just need get out of the airport, then take a jeepney bound with a signboard of "Canelar". Fare is 8.00 pesos and travel time about 10 to 15 minutes. To get to the airport from the city center, just take a "Camins" bound jeepney which will bring you to the gate of the airport. Fare is also 8.00 pesos. This is ideal for solo travelers and small groups.
Via Tricycle
Like the taxis, they usually charge fixed or contract rates. Negotiate and agree first with the driver for the price before getting inside the tricycle. Rates depends on your haggling skills, normally it's 50 pesos to the city center. Getting to the airport from the city center is also the same.
